CONCEPT / 01

Tacit Skill Royalties

Retiring tradespeople record their expert know-how, and an AI turns it into training material for apprentices and robots. The experts earn royalties every time it's used.

Why it’s open: Most skills platforms teach from scripts or generic video. Few capture expert first-person footage and pay the expert ongoing royalties.

The problem

When master welders, farmers, machinists, and surgeons retire, decades of intuition vanish because it was never written down. Apprentices lack mentors, and robotics firms lack real-world skill data.

Why it's open

Most skills platforms teach from scripts or generic video. Few capture expert first-person footage and pay the expert ongoing royalties.

How it works

  1. An expert applies and is verified (credentials, references, a sample session).
  2. They wear a head or chest camera plus optional audio, and narrate while working real jobs.
  3. AI segments the footage into tasks, transcribes the narration, extracts steps, tools, common mistakes, and decision points, and tags each clip by skill.
  4. The expert reviews and approves what is published (consent and privacy checks, face and client-data blurring).
  5. Each approved lesson is registered on-chain with a content hash, owner, and license terms.
  6. Buyers (trade schools, apprentices, robotics labs) license lessons. Payments split automatically: expert, platform, and an optional trade-guild fund.
  7. Usage is metered (views, training-set inclusion), and royalties stream to the expert's wallet.

Crypto's role

Provenance, automatic royalty splits, tamper-proof licensing records, optional tokenized licensing tiers.

AI's role

Segmentation, transcription, step extraction, quality scoring, translation, redaction of faces and sensitive info, tagging for search.

Components and tech stack

capture app (mobile and wearable), upload pipeline, AI processing service, review portal for experts, licensing marketplace, royalty smart contracts or ledger payments, buyer API for dataset access.

Revenue model

A platform cut of each license (e.g. 15-25%), enterprise dataset licensing, certification fees.

Risks and mitigations

Experts' privacy and employer IP (mitigate with consent forms and employer opt-in), low-quality footage (guided capture and AI scoring), buyer demand uncertainty (start with trade schools).

MVP (first 90 days)

Recruit 10 retiring tradespeople in one trade, capture 50 lessons, sell to 2-3 training programs, and pay first royalties.

Success metric

Royalty dollars paid to experts per month and number of apprentices trained.

CONCEPT / 02

Success-Only Bill Fighter

A personal AI agent negotiates your medical bills, insurance claims, rent hikes, and subscriptions. You only pay if it verifiably saves you money.

Why it’s open: Existing services are usually human-led or take a cut by contract. A transparent, escrow-based, verifiable-savings model with an AI agent is rare.

The problem

People overpay because disputing bills is slow, confusing, and stressful, and billing errors are common.

Why it's open

Existing services are usually human-led or take a cut by contract. A transparent, escrow-based, verifiable-savings model with an AI agent is rare.

How it works

  1. The user uploads a bill and relevant documents and grants limited permissions.
  2. The AI parses line items, flags duplicate charges, upcoding, out-of-network errors, and unfair fees, and cites the rules or benchmarks it used.
  3. The user approves a negotiation plan and a savings-share percentage.
  4. The user's fee (a cap) is placed in escrow before negotiation begins.
  5. The agent drafts letters, appeals, and call scripts, sends them, and tracks responses. Humans handle escalations.
  6. When the provider issues a corrected bill or refund, the user uploads proof (or the system reads it directly).
  7. A verification step confirms the savings. Escrow then releases the agreed share to the platform, and any unspent amount returns to the user.

Crypto's role

Escrow with release conditions, transparent fee logic, an immutable log of what was claimed and what was saved.

AI's role

Document parsing, error detection, benchmark comparison, letter drafting, negotiation strategy, follow-up scheduling.

Components and tech stack

secure upload and document vault, parsing and rules engine, agent workflow orchestrator, human escalation console, escrow integration, savings verification module.

Revenue model

A success fee (e.g. 20-30% of verified savings), premium monitoring subscriptions.

Risks and mitigations

Legal and privacy compliance (health data rules), provider pushback, verification disputes (clear proof standards). Never give legal or medical advice, only bill analysis.

MVP (first 90 days)

Focus on one category (hospital bills in one country), process 100 bills, and measure the win rate and average savings.

Success metric

Verified dollars saved per user and percentage of cases won.

CONCEPT / 03

Inheritable AI Mentor

You train an AI on your stories, values, and advice. It unlocks for your family at life milestones.

Why it’s open: Legacy products mostly offer static archives or memorial chatbots. Few combine milestone-gated unlocking, consent controls, and verifiable triggers.

The problem

Families lose wisdom, stories, and voices when people die or simply never get around to sharing them.

Why it's open

Legacy products mostly offer static archives or memorial chatbots. Few combine milestone-gated unlocking, consent controls, and verifiable triggers.

How it works

  1. The creator records interviews, journals, and Q&A sessions guided by an AI interviewer.
  2. They set rules: who can access, which topics unlock when (e.g. first job, 18th birthday, first child), and what the AI may and may not say.
  3. The AI builds a mentor persona limited strictly to the creator's own material. It declines to invent beliefs they never expressed.
  4. Unlock conditions are encoded as time locks and verifiable triggers (dates, attestations from designated guardians).
  5. When a milestone arrives, the guardian attests or the date passes, and the mentor module unlocks for that heir.
  6. Heirs ask questions, and the AI answers with citations back to the original recordings.
  7. The creator can update, revoke, or add chapters while alive. A dead-man's switch hands control to a trustee afterward.

Crypto's role

Time-locked and condition-based access, tamper-proof records of the creator's wishes, optional encrypted storage with key splitting among guardians.

AI's role

Guided interviewing, retrieval over the creator's content, tone matching, citation, guardrails against fabrication.

Components and tech stack

interview app, encrypted vault, retrieval-augmented mentor engine, access-rule contract or logic layer, guardian attestation flow, heir portal.

Revenue model

One-time creation fee, annual vault and hosting subscription, family plans.

Risks and mitigations

Emotional harm and over-reliance (clear labeling that it is a record of the person, not the person), consent and privacy, key loss (social recovery). Disclose clearly that it is AI.

MVP (first 90 days)

20 beta creators, one milestone type (age-based unlock), and text plus voice answers with citations.

Success metric

Heir engagement and creator completion rate of the interview program.

CONCEPT / 04

Hypothesis Vault

Scientists lock in their hypotheses and methods on-chain before running experiments. AI flags p-hacking and goalpost-shifting, and journals commit to publishing results either way.

Why it’s open: Preregistration exists, but it is often optional, hard to verify, and not tied to publication guarantees or staked accountability.

The problem

Publication bias and flexible analysis let weak findings look strong, and negative results rarely get published.

Why it's open

Preregistration exists, but it is often optional, hard to verify, and not tied to publication guarantees or staked accountability.

How it works

  1. A researcher submits a preregistration: hypotheses, methods, sample size, analysis plan, and success criteria.
  2. The system hashes and timestamps it on-chain. The full text can stay private until publication.
  3. Partner journals pre-commit to reviewing the plan and publishing the results regardless of outcome (a registered-report model).
  4. The researcher optionally stakes funds on following the plan. Deviations must be declared.
  5. After the study, they submit data and analysis code. AI compares the executed analysis against the preregistered plan and flags deviations, extra tests, outcome switching, and statistical red flags.
  6. A human editor reviews the AI's report. The final paper links to the on-chain registration.
  7. Stake is returned if the researcher complied, or partly redirected to a replication fund if not.

Crypto's role

Immutable timestamps, stake and slashing, public verification badges, open registry.

AI's role

Methods and analysis-plan parsing, deviation detection, statistical checks, plain-language summaries.

Components and tech stack

registration portal, hashing and timestamp service, journal integration API, AI audit engine, staking contract, public registry with search.

Revenue model

Journal and institution subscriptions, audit fees, grant-funded public registry.

Risks and mitigations

Researcher resistance (make it free for early adopters, offer a "verified preregistered" badge), AI false positives (human review), stake barriers (make staking optional).

MVP (first 90 days)

Partner with one journal or one lab in one field, preregister 30 studies, and publish the audit reports.

Success metric

Number of preregistered studies and percentage of negative results published.

CONCEPT / 05

Neighborhood Resilience Ledger

Households pledge spare resources before disasters (generators, water, tools, skills). AI maps availability, and payments flow automatically when someone uses them during an outage.

Why it’s open: Mutual-aid tools are mostly manual groups and chat threads, with no structured inventory, trust layer, or automatic compensation.

The problem

During blackouts, floods, and storms, neighbors have help to offer but no way to find each other, trust each other, or share costs.

Why it's open

Mutual-aid tools are mostly manual groups and chat threads, with no structured inventory, trust layer, or automatic compensation.

How it works

  1. Residents join a neighborhood group and list resources: a generator, a water tank, chainsaw, medical training, a spare room, vehicle space.
  2. They set terms: free, pay-what-you-want, or fixed rates, and availability windows.
  3. AI builds a live map with capacity estimates and gaps (e.g. "no water storage within 1km").
  4. Before a forecasted event, the system alerts people, suggests pre-positioning, and confirms pledges.
  5. During an outage, a request is posted, and AI matches it to nearby providers by distance, need, and trust score.
  6. The provider confirms the handoff (QR scan or photo). Payment moves from an optional community fund or the requester to the provider. Funds can be held in escrow until confirmation.
  7. After the event, reputation and a community report are updated.

Crypto's role

Escrow and micro-payments that work without bank access, a community fund wallet, portable reputation, offline-tolerant signed receipts.

AI's role

Matching, gap analysis, demand forecasting, translating requests, prioritizing urgent needs.

Components and tech stack

mobile app with offline-first design, neighborhood admin tools, map and matching engine, community fund and escrow, verification via QR or photo, alerts integration.

Revenue model

Municipal or utility subscriptions, insurer partnerships, grants. A small fee on paid transactions is optional.

Risks and mitigations

Safety and liability (guidelines, no dangerous equipment lending without checks), scams (verification, reputation), low participation until a critical mass exists (launch in already-organized communities).

MVP (first 90 days)

Pilot in one neighborhood of about 200 households, with 5 resource types, and test during a drill or a real event.

Success metric

Pledges per household, match time during events, and successful handoffs.

CONCEPT / 06

Public Budget Bounty Market

AI scans public spending for anomalies, and citizens stake on whether each flag is real. Confirmed findings pay out.

Why it’s open: Watchdog tools show dashboards, but few turn auditing into a crowdsourced market with financial incentives for accuracy.

The problem

Governments publish enormous spending data that almost nobody can audit, so waste and fraud go unnoticed.

Why it's open

Watchdog tools show dashboards, but few turn auditing into a crowdsourced market with financial incentives for accuracy.

How it works

  1. The system ingests open spending data (contracts, grants, payments, vendor records).
  2. AI flags anomalies: duplicate invoices, unusual price jumps, vendors with suspicious ties, split purchases below approval thresholds.
  3. Each flag becomes a "case" with evidence links.
  4. Citizens, journalists, and auditors stake funds to say "real issue" or "false alarm" and can attach evidence.
  5. Reviewers (verified auditors or a rotating jury) investigate using records requests and public documents.
  6. Resolution is recorded. Correct stakers earn from the losing side's stakes, and a bounty pool pays reviewers and the original finders.
  7. Confirmed findings are published as public reports and can be forwarded to oversight bodies.

Crypto's role

Staking markets, transparent resolution records, bounty payouts, pseudonymous participation with reputation.

AI's role

Anomaly detection, entity resolution (matching vendors across datasets), evidence summarization, case prioritization.

Components and tech stack

data ingestion pipelines, anomaly detection models, case management UI, staking and resolution contracts, reviewer reputation system, public reports site.

Revenue model

Sponsored bounty pools from foundations, newsroom partnerships, a small fee on stakes.

Risks and mitigations

Defamation (label cases as allegations until confirmed, legal review), gaming and manipulation (reputation weighting, reviewer independence), gambling regulation (consult counsel, consider a non-monetary version first).

MVP (first 90 days)

One city's open contracts dataset, 50 flagged cases, and a points-based version before real stakes.

Success metric

Confirmed findings and the dollar value flagged and recovered.

CONCEPT / 07

Orphan Dataset Rescue

AI finds abandoned scientific datasets on dying servers and old drives. Holders are paid to digitize and preserve them, with on-chain provenance and open access.

Why it’s open: Archives exist, but there is no active discovery-and-incentive system that finds at-risk data, pays holders, and proves provenance.

The problem

Valuable datasets are lost when labs close, researchers retire, servers shut down, or formats become obsolete.

Why it's open

Archives exist, but there is no active discovery-and-incentive system that finds at-risk data, pays holders, and proves provenance.

How it works

  1. AI crawls public sources for signs of at-risk data: dead links, deprecated servers, papers citing unavailable datasets, and end-of-life notices.
  2. Each candidate is ranked by scientific value, risk of loss, and legal clarity.
  3. The system contacts holders (labs, retirees, institutions) and offers a rescue bounty.
  4. The holder submits the data (or a hard drive for digitizing). Rescuers can also claim bounties for recovering data.
  5. AI validates it: format checks, completeness, metadata extraction, de-duplication, and flags personal or sensitive data.
  6. Ethics and licensing review confirms the data may be shared (or sets access tiers for sensitive data).
  7. The data is stored redundantly across open archives, with a content hash and provenance record registered on-chain, and the holder is paid.

Crypto's role

Bounty payments, content-addressed provenance, proof of original contributor, optional token credits for citation.

AI's role

Discovery, risk and value ranking, metadata extraction, format conversion, validation, sensitive-data detection.

Components and tech stack

crawler and risk scoring service, bounty board, intake and digitization workflow, validation pipeline, redundant storage integration, provenance registry, public catalog.

Revenue model

Grants from foundations, library and university memberships, premium API access for researchers.

Risks and mitigations

Data rights and privacy (strict review, opt-in only), verification burden, funding sustainability (partner with libraries and national archives).

MVP (first 90 days)

Pick one field (e.g. ecology field surveys), rescue 20 datasets, publish them with provenance, and track reuse.

Success metric

Datasets rescued and number of downstream citations or reuses.
